meet the team
We have a friendly team of seven here at Utopia - five full time therapists, one part time therapist and a bubbly receptionist - all on hand to put you at ease the minute you walk through our door.
The owner and manager of Utopia, Nikki is a working therapist as well as in charge of day-to-day running of the salon.
Working through her lunch break to ensure the reception area is never closed, Nikki answers all emails and queries, runs all social media accounts and updates the website in any spare time she can find.
Working in the salon five days a week, Nikki is trained in every treatment on offer at Utopia and is the salon's Dermalogica Expert.
Currently expecting her first baby, Nikki is now on maternity leave.
Find out more about Nikki and her background here.
Michelle has worked at Utopia for over five years and is trained in most of the treatments we offer.
Qualifying in NVQ level 3 back in 2008 from Abingdon and Witney College, Michelle is one of our most senior therapists and has a large following of clients requesting her time and time again.
Working in two different spas before joining Utopia, Michelle's experience exudes in her confidence and stunning treatments, and her bubbly and friendly personality keeps clients returning year after year.
With Nikki now on maternity leave, Michelle has now been promoted to Salon Manager.
Sammy joined Utopia in June 2015 after qualifying in her NVQ level 3 at Abingdon and Witney college.
Having worked in another salon for the past year, Sammy was looking for something more local and we couldn't wait to snap her up.
Sammy was awarded Student of the Year for NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy in 2014 as well as Student of the Year for NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy in 2015, and also took part in World Skills Beauty Therapy 2015.
Her quiet yet bubbly nature sees her fit in just perfectly with the rest of the team, and makes for a stunning therapist.
Georgina started working with us at the beginning of November 2016 as an experienced therapist.
Working with us 3 days a week, Georgina has come from working in a spa environment at Danesfield Spa, looking for a more salon-based setting. She is qualified in NVQ Level 2 and NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy, studying at the Helen Mcguinness School of Health and Beauty International.
With a background in health and social care, Georgina is highly professional and eager to expand her treatment knowledge.
Jasmine joined Utopia on a 12-week work experience placement at the start of 2015 when she was studying for her NVQ level 2 at Abingdon and Witney college.
Initially a little shy, Jasmine soon settled in and observed many treatments during her time with us, eventually answering telephone calls and booking clients' treatments in.
We were sad to see Jasmine go at the end of her work experience, so were thrilled to see her apply for a Saturday reception position when we came to advertise later that year.
With her knowledge of the beauty industry, experience with us at Utopia and our comprehensive computerised system and experience working reception at her local leisure centre, we knew she was the right one for the job.
Last year Jasmine finished her NVQ level 3 Beauty Therapy training at Abingdon and Witney College and has now swapped her role at Utopia for a full time therapist.
Elisha is the newest member of the Utopia team, moving to us from the Randolph Spa in Oxford. Working with us 5 days a week, Elisha joined us at the beginning of April 2017 and has qualifications in NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 Beauty Therapy, where she trained at City of Oxford College.
Her particular interests are massage and holistic therapies, and one day hopes to gain qualifications in aesthetic treatments such as botox and fillers.
Elisha fits in with the Utopia perfectly with her extremely professional yet friendly nature, and we are very excited to have her on board!
Pam is our much-loved receptionist and has worked with us from day one of opening.
The mother of Utopia's owner Nikki, Pam was initially a little nervous about working in an unfamiliar environment, but soon picked things up and is a popular member of our team.
Very friendly and down to earth, Pam makes everyone feel at home and puts them at ease, both when visiting the salon and calling on the telephone. Generally running reception on her own, Pam also helps to answer emails and sends products through the post when ordered.
