Professional mole screening service

Map My Mole®

Have you noticed a mole or skin lesion that has changed in appearance, or one that you're simply unsure about? Our Map My Mole® service offers fast, convenient access to expert dermatology screening, without the need to wait for a GP referral.

Using a specialised high-resolution dermatoscope, we capture detailed clinical and dermoscopic images of your mole or skin lesion. These images, together with your medical history and information about the lesion, are securely submitted to a UK consultant dermatologist for assessment.

Your images are typically reviewed within 24-48 hours (Monday to Friday), and you'll receive a comprehensive report advising whether the lesion appears benign, requires monitoring, or should be assessed further by your GP or a dermatologist.

Map My Mole® is suitable for anyone who has:

  • A new or changing mole.

  • A mole that looks different from your others.

  • A pigmented lesion or skin mark they would like professionally assessed.

  • Concerns about a skin lesion and would like rapid reassurance or advice.

Please note that this is not a treatment or diagnostic service. Map My Mole® is an expert skin lesion screening service designed to help identify lesions that may require further medical investigation. If the dermatologist recommends further assessment, you should contact your GP or the appropriate healthcare provider as soon as possible.

What to expect

Your appointment will include:

  • A consultation to discuss your concerns and relevant medical history.

  • Clinical photographs of the lesion.

  • High-resolution dermoscopic imaging.

  • Secure submission to a UK consultant dermatologist.

  • A written dermatologist's report, usually returned within 24-48 working hours.

The appointment is quick, comfortable and non-invasive, with no downtime.

Important information

Map My Mole® is intended for the assessment of individual moles or skin lesions. If you have numerous changing moles, a personal history of melanoma, or widespread skin concerns, a full skin examination by a dermatologist may be more appropriate.

If you notice a mole that is rapidly changing, bleeding, crusting, painful, or causing significant concern, we recommend arranging an urgent appointment with your GP rather than waiting for a screening appointment.
